Fundraising for Wildlife Aid

Fundraising is easy!  From a coffee morning for your friends, right up to a big corporate event, we can support your efforts.

For more details read on, but in the meantime, to get you started, here's a Sponsorship form.....

Do you ever find yourself gazing out of your kitchen window or strolling along some country path, captivated by nature’s way and intrinsic beauty? Do you watch Wildlife SOS and share with us the heart-warming and, at times; heartbreaking, rollercoaster ride that is; working with wildlife? Perhaps you’re already a member of Wildlife Aid, or a volunteer at our hospital… But do you wish there was something more you could do - however big or small - to help support the desperate plight of our native wildlife?

Well, good news: THERE IS!

Wildlife Aid is looking to initiate an exciting new venture for all you animal lovers out there who, for reasons varying from other commitments, to lack of transport, to fur allergies (!), haven’t, thus far, known how best to play your part in assisting the vital work of Wildlife Aid.  Here at the centre, we are hoping to build up a network of friends. Each group of ‘WILD FRIENDS’ can consist of anywhere upward of two people, and can be based either locally or far and wide.

Any age, any place, any time, any where… with as little or as much commitment as you are able to offer.

Perhaps you could form a group amid your circle of friends, or maybe there are others who would be keen to come on board with you amongst a WI, church, or parenting group, a sports team or club, your school class or university group.

To form your own group of ‘WILD FRIENDS’ couldn’t be easier. As special friends of the charity, all you have to do is commit to organising at least one event a year to raise funds for Wildlife Aid; this could be anything from a monthly coffee morning with your pals, to a one-off spectacular gala event. (For a full list of ideas, see overleaf.) Above all else, what a great excuse to spend some time with your friends!

For Example… Perhaps your group have decided to treat yourselves and your friends to a Pamper Evening. Choose a member of your group to host the evening- you could all provide a light snacky buffet dish each- and hire in a Beauty Therapist (you may well find that such a therapist would be willing to waive their fee given that it is a charity evening, in return for possible future business amongst the ladies present). You could either sell tickets for the evening (deducting any expenses you have incurred first, and then sending the rest of the proceeds to Wildlife Aid), or just ask for donations.

Or… May be a sophisticated Restaurant Dinner is more your style: Simply choose an eatery and visit the restaurateur to book a table, explaining that you’re hosting a charity lunch/dinner for x people. (Again, you may find that the venue will offer you a reduced fee for a charity function.) All that remains is to sell tickets for the meal and enjoy! It’s worth bearing in mind when pricing your tickets that although the cost of the ticket can’t be ‘Gift Aided’, any additional suggested donation; can…!

This method of fundraising has been incredibly successful for other charities, starting small; the pyramid has developed over the years to find an initial handful of groups with just a couple of members each, develop into internationally based groups holding huge fundraising events around
the world!

Once you have registered your group with us (by simply calling the Wildlife Aid office and giving us your details), we will support you in any way that we can. We will designate one of our website forums to our ‘WILD FRIENDS’ Groups, which will enable you to contact one another should you wish to do so, and, where fitting, we can post details of up-coming events on our website to advertise places for sporting or social events. We will also feature articles and pictures of your various achievements.

So, have you got a Wild Side…?
