What it costs

It costs £822 every day to keep our centre open. That equates to over £300,000 per year.  Every year we struggle to raise that amount.

Here are some of the average costs for each patient we care for:

To treat a pigeon with canker £ 30.00
To treat a garden bird caught by a cat £ 20.00
To overwinter an underweight hedgehog £100.00
To hand rear one orphaned baby hedgehog £60.00
To provide a course of treatment and care for one fox with mange £45.00
To hand rear and rehabilitate one fawn £300.00
To give one x ray £ 25.00
To give one injection £3.00
To buy one heated intensive care cage £350.00
To operate on a hedgehog £45.00
To operate on and treat a deer £150.00
To hand rear one orphaned baby bird £20.00
To surgically repair an owls broken wing £200.00
To give life saving treatment to a deer in a road traffic accident £175.00

If you have brought a patient in to us, thank you. But please don’t let your caring stop at the door. Your patient will be with us for 6 weeks on average, during which time it will receive all the medication, food, shelter and care it needs to be able to return to the wild.

We receive no central funding and rely entirely on donations from the public to raise the funds we need to treat the animals in our care.

Please help us to help your patient, by making a donation to cover the cost of its care or by becoming a member of Wildlife Aid today.
