Lucy Kells - Hospital Manager/Veterinary Nurse

Lucy joined Wildlife Aid in April 2010 as Hospital Manager/Veterinary Nurse for the charity.
 
She has been a veterinary nurse for almost 20 years, qualifying in 1995 and then going on to do an advanced surgical nursing diploma in 1998.  Starting her career in private practice, she has also worked in many other fields of veterinary nursing, such as emergency and critical care nursing, referral work and working for animal charities.

Joyce Tibbets - Vet

Joyce has been a vet for the Wildlife Aid Foundation since its very early beginnings, even before it became a registered charity. As such, she has been here longer than almost anyone else and has seen massive changes at the charity over the years.

Joyce is very much a realist and of Wildlife Aid, she says:

'I have been coming to Wildlife Aid for so long, it is almost like a habit that I can't break!

Becky Banning - Office Manager

Becky Banning - Office Manager

Becky has been with Wildlife Aid since 2006 and is the Office Manager for the charity.  Coming from a corporate background, Becky has worked for a variety of businesses, from hypnotherapy training to selling industrial footwear!! 

Becky initially joined Wildlife Aid as Simon’s PA, but when the opportunity arose to work in the hospital itself she jumped at the chance:

 “I wanted to be more involved with the day to day events at Wildlife Aid, and so being able to see first hand the amazing way the hospital operates gives me all the motivation I need to help make sure this charity runs as well as it possibly can”

 Looking after everything from A – Z in the hospital general office, Becky is never to be found without a clipboard somewhere about her person!

Andy Smith - PR Advisor

Andy Smith - PR Advisor

Andy Smith is responsible for the Wildlife Aid Foundation’s PR, and also acts as secretary to the Foundation’s Board of Trustees.

A journalist by background, he has been involved with Wildlife Aid in one way or another since 1994. Most recently, it was Andy who steered the charity through to Foundation status and who currently spearheads our campaigning and political work.

A Fellow of the Royal Geographical Society and a Fellow (and Past-President) of the Chartered Institute of Journalists, Andy represents the Wildlife Aid Foundation on various committees such as the all-party parliamentary groups on animal welfare and wildlife conservation. He is usually to be found surrounded by mountains of papers, and with a phone in each hand.

Work Experience Programme

Work Experience Programme

The Wildlife Aid Foundation offers Work Experience placements between February and November each year.  Placements are not offered in December and January as the hospital is extremely quiet during these months and learning potential would be greatly reduced. 

Students will become involved in the day to day running of the hospital, with the cleaning and feeding that accompanies the ongoing animal care and welfare that we offer.

Lauren Smith - Marketing and Fundraising Manager

Lauren joined the charity in early 2011, following a background in marketing, fundraising and events for animal charities in the UK and internationally.

As the Wildlife Aid Foundation’s Marketing and Fundraising Manager, she is responsible for maximising opportunities across all areas of marketing including fundraising events and activities, merchandising and memberships, and for developing and supporting relationships with corporate sponsors.
