The Wildlife Aid Foundation is pleased to announce that our annual Open Day will be held this year on Sunday 7th July.
The home of TV’s “Wildlife SOS”, the centre in Leatherhead has seen all the joys and heartaches of wildlife rescue over the past 15 years. The show’s host Simon Cowell will be leading the charity’s fundraising day, which is their biggest fundraising event of the year, and helps them to meet the ever-increasing costs of keeping the centre running. The day provides a unique opportunity to get a behind-the-scenes look at the work of one of the UK’s leading wildlife hospitals with guided tours and to meet some of our volunteers and talk to them about their experiences of looking after sick and injured wildlife.
As well as the wildlife hospital you will be able to enjoy all the fun of a village fete, with music, stalls (including a fantastic plant sale!) and entertainment for all the family. Fabulous food is available at the BBQ, and you can enjoy your visit with a glass of Pimms at the bar! Our cake stall is usually the pride of Open Day and always sells out. We’d really appreciate it if you could pop on your aprons and get baking for us! We need all manner of cakes, pies and pastries, jams, pizzas and all the other tasty treats that make scrumptious eye-catching displays like the fairy cakes pictured below. Cakes should be brought in to the hospital on Saturday 6th or early on Sunday 7th please.
Look forward to seeing you there!
