The Wildlife Aid Foundation is pleased to announce that our annual Open Day will be held this year on Sunday 21st June.
Open Day is our biggest fundraising event of the year, and helps us to meet the ever-increasing costs of keeping the centre running. It also gives us the opportunity to say ‘thank you’ to everyone that has been supported us over the past year, and hopefully meet some new supporters who will help us with our valuable work.
The day also provides a unique opportunity to get a behind-the-scenes look at the work of one of the UK’s leading wildlife hospitals, and to meet some of our volunteers and talk to them about their experiences of looking after sick and injured wildlife.
Admission to Open Day is £10 per car or £3 on foot. We have unlimited parking in the field next to the hospital, kindly donated for the day by KBR Leatherhead. Foot passengers are just a short walk from Leatherhead Town centre & British Rail station.
The day runs from 10 am until 5pm
Tickets for Hospital Tours are available to buy on the day on a first-come, first-served basis. Tours start at 10.10am and at then at 10 minute intervals throughout the day, with the last tour at 3.50pm. See section ‘Booking Tickets’ below for more details.
Fun & Games
Our founder, Simon Cowell, very kindly gives us his garden for the day, so that we can offer a fun and entertaining day for all the family…. With stalls and activities for young and old alike, you can enjoy a tombola, arts & crafts and even have a go at the Human Fruit Machine! There are plenty of activities for the children, from a drawing competition to a memory games, and plenty more besides, your youngsters will not know where to start… and some of the parents might like to join in as well!
Eating & Drinking
There’s lots to eat and drink too, with our food stalls and bar, tea and coffee stalls and stalls selling cakes, biscuits, jams and preserves…you won’t go hungry!
Pre bookable tickets for hospital tours are sold out, however you can buy them on the day! Tickets for morning tours (10.10am – 12.50pm) will be on sale from 10am. Tickets for afternoon tours (1.30pm – 3.30pm) will be on sale from 12.30pm. There will be a queuing only system after 3.30pm for anyone unable to get into a scheduled tour. We hope this makes it as fair as possible for everyone, given the limited space for showing people around.
Tickets are just £2.50 each and under 5’s go in for free.
It’s always a great day – we can’t wait to see you!!
