The Wildlife Aid Foundation is pleased to announce that our annual Open Day will be held this year on Sunday 9th July.
Open Day is our biggest fundraising event of the year and helps us to meet the ever-increasing costs of keeping the centre running. It also gives us the opportunity to say ‘thank you’ to everyone that has been supported us over the past year, and hopefully meet some new supporters who will help us with our valuable work.
The day also provides a unique opportunity to get a behind-the-scenes look at the work of one of the UK’s leading wildlife hospitals and to meet some of our volunteers and talk to them about their experiences of looking after sick and injured wildlife.
Admission to Open Day is £4 for adults and £2 for children (under 5’s go in free). Parking is available in the field on Springfield Drive next to the hospital, kindly donated for the day by KBR Leatherhead. Foot passengers are just a short walk from Leatherhead Town centre & British Rail station.
We would respectfully request that visitors do not park in the crematorium; there will be many people visiting their loved ones who have passed away and spending quiet time, so parking will be required for their cars.
The day runs from 10 am until 5pm with the last admission to the car park at 4pm.
Tickets for Hospital Tours are available to buy on the day on a first-come, first-served basis. Tours start at 10.10am and at then at 10 minute intervals throughout the day, with the last tour at 3.50pm. See section ‘Booking Tickets’ below for more details.
Fun & Games
Our founder, Simon Cowell, very kindly gives us his garden for the day, so that we can offer a fun and entertaining day for all the family…. With stalls and activities for young and old alike, you can enjoy a tombola, arts & crafts, photography and much more. There are plenty of activities for the children, your youngsters will not know where to start… and some of the parents might like to join in as well!
Eating & Drinking
There’s lots to eat and drink too, with our food stalls and bar, tea and coffee, ice creams and stalls selling cakes, biscuits, jams and preserves…you won’t go hungry!
In advance: pre-bookable tickets for hospital tours are now on sale.
Tickets are just £2.50 each and under 5’s go in for free.
If the weather dictates that we need to move or cancel Open Day then we will give as much notice as possible. Please do keep checking this website for updates as we get nearer to the event.
