Trapped bird of prey helped by wildlife rescuers

Sparrowhawk rescues are always a little daunting for the team. They can often take a long time and need a lot of people to successfully pull off!

We were recently called out to a garage in Surrey, where a sparrowhawk had entered through the main door but could not escape (they do not like flying down!). Simon, along with blacksmiths James and Matt who had been roped in once again, set off to help.

The bird was still very lively and easily dodged the teams nets. Attempt after attempt failed, but finally they managed to contain it.

Luckily, the bird was in good condition and could be released straight back to the wild!
