Wildlife Open Weekend
Open Weekend 2022
Every year, the Wildlife Aid Foundation puts on its annual summer Open Day. This is our biggest fundraising event of the year with all proceeds going towards the care and rehabilitation of the thousands of animal emergencies we respond to.
Following a two year hiatus, we are delighted to announce Open Day will be back in 2022, bigger and better than ever before! However, this year, it will be a bit different and is a two day spectacular on Saturday 2nd and Sunday 3rd July. It provides a unique opportunity to get a behind-the-scenes look at one of the UK’s leading wildlife hospitals. You will also get to meet some of our volunteers and talk to them about their experiences of looking after sick and injured wildlife.
In addition, we will provide information on how you can help mitigate risk to wildlife and key tips on ‘what to do’ if you find a wild animal in need.
It also gives us the chance to thank everyone who has supported us over the past year and, hopefully, meet some new supporters who will help us with our valuable work.
Our founder, Simon Cowell, very kindly gives us his garden for the weekend, so that we can offer a fun and entertaining experience for all the family. With stalls and activities for young and old, alike, you can enjoy local arts & crafts, photography and much more. From learning how to make bird feeders to buying beautiful artwork – there are plenty of activities for children and adults, alike!
We look forward to seeing you at our 2022 Open Weekend!
Saturday 2nd and Sunday 3rd July.
Admission is £5 per person, per day (under 5’s go in free). Parking is available in the field on Springfield Drive next to the hospital, kindly donated for the day by KBR Leatherhead. For those on foot, we are just a short walk from Leatherhead Town centre & train station.
We would respectfully request that visitors do not park in the crematorium; there will be many people visiting their loved ones who have passed away and spending quiet time, so parking will be required for their cars.
Each day runs from 10 am until 5pm with the last admission to the car park at 4pm.
Book your tour tickets here. Tickets are available to buy online and on the day on a first-come, first-served basis. Tours start at 10.10am and at then at 10 minute intervals throughout the day, with the last tour at 4.20pm.
