Rescue

This is definitely NOT where we expected to find a fox cub!

We were recently called out to the middle of a roundabout in Sutton, where an adventurous fox cub seemed to have fallen into a large subsidence hole. Unfortunately, although being given food, he had been down there for some time and Lawrie, our Operations Officer, set off to try and find him.
On arrival, we were a little shocked when he seemed not to be there... It took a lot of searching to finally locate the little guy - especially as he'd dug his own little cave in the hole wall!

Release

Once contained, he was rushed back to the centre for a full veterinary examination. Amazingly, he had survived the ordeal with only minor dehydration and was soon much more feisty. Once given a final sign off, it was over to Mike, one of our experienced rescuers, to attempt to get the little guy home...

Reunions are always tense affairs and need careful planning, but we're delighted to say that Mike came through and managed to get this little cub back home to mum!
