Jason climbs Mount Fuji!

“Virgin Atlantic, who I work for, run a lot of charity events for staff every year, from cycling across India to trekking in China.  Staff are allowed to donate 50% of their sponsorship to a charity of their choice.  The other 50% goes to the Virgin Atlantic charity, Free the Children.  I chose a 2-day climb up Mount Fuji and also chose 50% to go to Wildlife Aid.  The climb is billed as an aggressive, non-technical climb requiring moderate fitness and strong determination.  The climb begins mid-afternoon on 26th August, spending the night halfway up before continuing the climb at 2am on the 27th to see the sunrise, then descending back to the base straight after.  I chose Wildlife Aid because I love animals and hate any form of animal suffering.  I grew up with a lot of animals in our household and one of my hobbies (trail running) takes me out into the countryside, where I see a lot of the British wildlife so have always been an animal lover.  Wildlife Aid just seem very befitting to my own beliefs and I hope any money I raise can go towards helping even more sick animals to get the treatment they need to get better.”
